CILICIA, Seleucia ad Calycadnum. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (31mm, 11.41 g, 6h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; c/m: ΔO monogram within triangular incuse and K / Athena advancing right, brandishing spear and shield at anguipede Giant, who raises hands. For coin: SNG Levante 763 var. (placement of rev. legend and without c/ms; same obv. die); SNG France 1011 var. (rev. type; same obv. die and annulet-in-Δ c/m only); for c/ms: Howgego 670 and 618. VF, attractive earthen olive patina.
